A festive looking Riverbank Cafe, with owner Dennis looking on, as band strolls the restaurant.



The Riverbank Cafe was packed with diners & decked out in Christmas lights & flowers. Gorgeous. Raif & Sadie made the extra long journey north to play with Chico as Lagniappe lite aka "Trio version."

They started out by strolling the crowd and it was pretty smooth sailing from there.
For those that don't know, Accordions are VERY heavy instruments and take a lot of energy. Look at this close up of Sadie working it!

A Lagniappe trio returns next month to Riverbank Cafe, 1/20/12 Friday night 7pm.

RiverBank Cafe Trio

It was a blast from the past night kind of sorta. Lagniappe hadn't played here in a few years and their old accordion player, Chuck Wiggins filled in. He played with Lagniappe until 1998. I remember first hearing the band at Borders in the 90s, when I was just a little girl (clears throat!)

I was playing with the settings to avoid flash so that's why some pics are grainy. It was great to see the guys even though Chico was late to the first set due to traffic issues. Yvan & Chuck sounded like 2.5 men with Chuck's electronic accordion sounding like two instruments at once. But it turned out fine.

A Trio version of Lagniappe returns next month on November 18th. Should be Yvan, Chico and John on piano/brass instruments. See ya then. ~ Soph

Lagniappe News Flash

This week, on Thursday 09/15, Lagniappe will play a fundraising event for the Cincinnati Opera to be held at Quince & Quinn, 3235 Madison Avenue in Oakley from 5-8 pm...come on down to support the Opera! Laissez les bons temps rouler!

The Trio at Wash Platform will be Raif & Sadie & Mike Barrett filling in for Lagniappe members at fund raisers.

Saturday Concert in Park, Stanley's, Sunday Leo's CH

Saturday, we will be sharing the stage with Jake and the Freddies and the Blue Birds Big Band from noon to 5pm on the Lake. Lagniappe plays from 1:30 to 3 pm.
